What Better Way to Give Thanks Than with Our Earthquakes Family

CALLING ALL HELPING HANDS!

Join the San Jose Casbah, along with the your favorite MLS Team’s Front Office, in serving frozen Thanksgiving dinners to 12,000 deserving people.

Come for the entire event, or even just an hour.  Remind those who are less-fortunate there’s always someone out there who cares.

Your San Jose Earthquakes and Cityteam Ministries are joining forces to serve food to the city’s homeless population.  This will take place at our own Avaya Stadium. Help distribute frozen goods to each family so they will have a Thanksgiving meal.

Cordell Cato and our mascot, Q, will also be on hand.

This inspiring event takes place on Tuesday, November 24th, from Noon-2:30 p.m. There is no age minimum to help, so bring out the entire family.  And don’t forget to bring along your friends.

Every helping hand will help in this endeavor to fill tummies and create smiles.

Stanford Tailgate Information

It’s official, the tailgate will once again be in Lot 2, between Gates 11 and 12 (closest to the fence).

If you have a parking pass for Avaya Stadium, regardless of what lot it is for, it will be good for Lot 2. The Lot opens at, wait for it . . . noon! Taco Guy will start serving at 2:30 (and will stop serving at 6:30 p.m.).

There are a very limited amount of pre-paid passes available for this lot, if you do NOT already have a Season Parking Pass for Avaya Stadium. The passes are $20 each. Please e-mail us at questions@sjcasbah.org to reserve a pass. Once we verify that there is a pass available, you will be given instructions on how to receive your pass. Again, you do NOT need a pass for Lot 2 if you already have a Season Parking Pass for Avaya Stadium. Do not send any money, and do not assume that you have a pass, until we verify with you that one is available. For those who do not receive a pass, the closest lot available is across the street in Lot 3 or Lot 7.

To reiterate, tailgating will be in Lot 2. Gates open at 12 p.m. Please see the map below for a visual idea of the location.

Yo Quiero Stanford Taco Guy

Just 25 days left until a day filled with soccer, dusty parking lots, loud music, fantastic desserts, fantastic-er drinks, and oh, TACOS!

Last day to reserve your taco/quesadilla plate is Sunday, June 21st. We will be handing over the count at that time to our lovely Taco Guy. There is a chance extra wristbands will be available the day of the game, but do you really want to take that chance and stand there longingly, staring at other’s deliciousness on their plates, simply because you did not get your payment in on time? Me thinks not!

So to clarify –  your hard-earned cash of $15 will get you (1) wristband for “keep comin’ back” tacos and/or quesadillas – complete with all the fixins. Last day to make your order is Sunday, June 21st. Numbers will be sent to the Taco Guy at 9 p.m. PST on that day.

Remind your friends and fellow tailgaters to come here and place their order. After all, you don’t really need any extracurricular drool on the food you paid for. Let them drool on their own food!

Levi Stadium Info Anyone??

The San Jose Casbah wishes it had the answer to everything. We always thought we had the answer to everything “tailgating.” After all, it’s kind of our thing. Alas, it appears the answer is a bit more elusive this time as we enter another year of tailgating (or not) at Levi Stadium.

Let us start off by letting you know we are simply passing on information here, which has been passed on to our organization. Before you read on, know you will find no definitive answers today. We are hoping for those silly little definitive answers tomorrow (or at least before the game!)

So, the powers-that-be, at Levi Stadium, were apparently unaware that the only parking lot available on Ticketmaster was for Blue Lot 1. They are in the process of rectifying that situation, and opening pre-sale parking lot tickets for Red Lot 3. A code will be given out to order those parking tickets, but . . . we’re still waiting on that information from Levi Stadium. And yes, everyone has to pay for parking. No one has parking passes for Levi Stadium until you hand over more mullah.

Banners, flags, drums.

Despite the policy of Levi Stadium to not allow such items, arrangements were made to allow them for this soccer game. BUT WAIT. That privilege was taken away again because Security said they made no such arrangements and will not allow for such arrangements. BUT WAIT. The agreement has been made again – the head honchos conversed and shook hands, and well, the thing is, it’s not in the Security Plan yet. So the agreement that was made, then not made, then made again, is not in writing. So really, until it’s in writing and in the Security Plan, don’t make any plans. Capiche??

Where do Supporters’ Groups meet and how do we get to our ultimate destination? That is a very good question. Still one that needs to be answered. The Security Plan (you seeing a theme here?) called for Supporters’ Groups to enter in the same entrance as last year, but that’s when they thought we were tailgating in Red Lot 3, which doesn’t exist to us yet. So, another “we’ll get back to you on that.”

If you have any questions, – – – well, you can ask, and, “we’ll get back to you on that.”

We are under no disillusion this whole thing is a gigantic headache for all; we have and will provide information as up-to-date as we get it. Please keep in mind our long line of tin cans and string that connect us all. Levi Stadium talks to the Earthquakes front office, which in turn talks to us, who in turn talk to you. We are being as persistent as our super powers allow us. Thanks for your patience, and look for more information as soon as 49ers-possible.
