Help to Bring ProSoccer to San Francisco!

Hey guys, please help our new pro soccer team, SF Deltas, get a proper home in the heart of San Francisco–Kezar Stadium. First thing you can do is sign your name and address in the letter below.

Secondly, we have reached the final step to obtain the stadium contract that approves the SF Deltas to play their home games at Kezar Stadium in Golden Gate Park (the original home of the 49ers and Raiders). The majority of the people who know about the SF Deltas are in strong support. However, the process for approval has an important final step that is based on the number of people who show up to the SF Recreation & Park Commission hearing at City Hall.

The Commissioners will vote based on how many people attend the hearing in support of the SF Deltas. The biggest challenge? The hearing is in the middle of the work day.

Would you please join us to ensure our team has the best home possible in San Francisco?

Here are the hearing details:

When:    Thursday, March 17 @ 9:30 am

*Note: The hearing end time varies on where we are placed on the agenda. We’ll have that information 72 hours before the hearing. If we are first on the agenda, we should be out by noon. If we are later in the agenda, we should be done by early afternoon.

Where: San Francisco City Hall – 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, SF, CA 94102  Room 416

The benefits of bringing pro soccer to the community include:

– World’s game – An opportunity to bring professional soccer on a manageable and intimate scale into the heart of San Francisco.

Rec and Park facility improvements and revenue – Nearly 1 million dollars in upgrades and deferred maintenance repair at Kezar and Boxer stadiums (half of which will take place prior to the first game).

– Affordable and accessible entertainment with multicultural appeal – Discount pricing (3,000 tickets @ $20 or less a game), free entry (200 spectators per game).

– Neighborhood commerce – Games anticipated to draw thousands of spectators – some of whom are expected to visit local shops, bars and restaurants.

It would be hugely appreciated if you could help us. I’d be happy to follow up with a call/e-mail to give you more details if you’d like.

I look forward to hearing from you and thank you for your support!

This Sunday, March 6, marks Opening Day for the MLS Season as your own San Jose Earthquakes take on the Colorado Rapids.

For all you long-time supporters, you already know where to go to get on with your pre-game groove!

For all you newbies, we welcome you with open arms to the west side of the Gold Lot, right next to the fence, and near the walkway opening. There will be flags a-flying, laughter turned on high, and a little bit o’ music to get you into the mood for the first game of the season!

Don’t forget to bring your favorite morning yum-yum for the Share Table (if you so desire), and maybe a little something for that Magic Cooler . . . hmmm, maybe?? And yes, the Magic Cooler will be open for business despite the 8 a.m. start time, because, after all, we’ve got to pretend it’s not 8 in the morning!

If you have yet to pay for your Casbah membership for the 2016/2017 season, you can still pay at the tailgate with Cash or Credit. Or you can pay here

$20 for Individual
$30 for Family (Two Adults and all children under 18)

Remember, the San Jose Casbah is a non-profit organization, and proceeds go toward the betterment of the Earthquakes Community. With your membership this year, you get a handy-dandy flannel blanket that will help to keep you warm on this overcast day. (If you’ve already paid for your membership, your blanket will be available for pick-up from 8:30 a.m.-11 a.m. at the tailgate).
